The Michael Brown Foundation d/b/a Chosen For Change (CFC) invites you to become a Sponsor of our 6th Annual and first Virtual Memorial Weekend to benefit the community and CFC programming aimed at empowering, engaging, and building leadership & self-determination in grieving fathers, youth, and families. The primary source of funding for CFC's Annual Memorial Weekend is from individuals and corporate sponsors, such as yourself. CFC receives no governmental funds. Due to the lack of financial support CFC was unable to directly assist the community during these dueling pandemics of COVID-19 and systemic racism.
CFC's 6th Annual Memorial Weekend will be held on August 9th, 2020 in Ferguson, MO and through the convenience of your electronic device of choice. Due to the pandemics and for the safety of everyone, including the Brown Family & Board Members who are high risk, we are scaling back our weekend. We ask if you attend the Memorial to please wear a mask and practice social distancing. The day will begin with our Memorial Service in Canfield with Limited Guest Speakers and Performances and will end following the 11:55 AM CST- 4.5 minute International Moment of Silence in memory of Mike Brown, Jr.
CFC will host a Virtual Black Celebrity Fathers Panel along with Mr. Brown and two other Chosen Fathers from our program. Additional events will be listed on our website and social media. All events will be available to join virtually and the registration will be available on our website located at www.MichaelBrownFoundation.org
As you may know, for the past five years, CFC has dedicated its time and resources to strengthening and changing the destiny of impoverished communities. Through our Chosen Father's program, we serve grieving fathers from across the country providing them a platform for their voices to be heard, a space where they can heal and be encouraged to stand up to be a positive influence in their communities.
